Cinnamon, Bangalore

Cinnamon, a lifestyle store, was started way back in 1999 by husband-wife duo Abhishek and Radhika Poddar. The duo is extremely passionate about design and craft, and that reflects in their large collection of unique, quality merchandise.

Plethora of Designers

Nestled in a quaint heritage bungalow, this multi-designer boutique has a lot to offer. Customers are spoilt for choice with the many designer labels they house; like Vivek Narang, Mallika Mathur, Sunita Shanker, Pero, Aavaran, Khoj, Aikeyah, Eka, Peachoo, Soham Dave, Jayanthi Reddy, Naushad Ali, Lajjo Chotani, 11.11, Sartorial, Transit Design, Paromita Bannerji and Mukul Goyal, amongst many others.

Traditional yet modern

Radhika says ‘Our products are all Indian. Traditional crafts are used to make contemporary designs’. With products being sourced from all over India, Radhika finds that Merchandising is a big challenge; people are always looking for something different, fun and new. She feels encouraged by customer feedback and always ensures that she frequently changes the merchandise, to ensure that the customers are constantly enthralled by the mix of products they offer. ‘I thoroughly enjoy my work and that keeps me going’, she says.

All about the experience

With the rise of online shopping in India, what are Radhika’s thoughts of online platform vs a brick and mortar store? ‘I am personally not an online shopper. I prefer to see, touch, feel and experience the product before purchasing it’. We completely second her thoughts!
